E-Vokasi: Application to Help Junior High School Students in Determining Major in Vocational School

Most of the students in junior high school who wish to continue their studies in vocational schools do not choose the majors based on their individual interests and desires. Many things are behind students choose majors, such as due to the demands of parents to choose a particular major or due to just follow his friends only. In fact, the selection of educational programs for graduate students of Junior High School to the next level of education is one determinant of one's success in the world of career or work. To determine the choice of educational programs and majors, please note the pattern of student interest in question first. The introduction of student interest patterns can help determine the advanced education program that best fits the characteristics of the student. It can minimize the confusion of students in determining major in vocational school. To help students recognize patterns of interest, psychometric measurements are needed that can be used to measure student interest patterns. This devotion aims to develop an “e-vokasi” interest scale application for students in junior high school so that students can know the pattern of their interest in a particular field and can be a recommendation of students to determine major in vocational school they will take later. The virtues in this vocational interest application are accessible using a variety of media such as PCs, tablets and mobile phones connected to the internet. This facilitates the test execution process every time and anywhere. Schools can conduct the interest test process independently by studying the application usage manual.
